Spear Brothers Sheep and Cattle Company's inventory of minerals and surface interest was once located primarily in Southeast New Mexico and, in spite of the name, never included actual livestock.  Now holdings from this company live elsewhere (read on).

History:

Spear Brothers Sheep and Cattle Company was created by Howell Spear in the mid-1950’s and was later incorporated as an LLC in 1998. The father of the Spear Brothers formed this company with the intent of creating a portfolio of mineral and surface interests for his children. He acquired these interests by soliciting mineral owners.

Today:

After the consolidation of 2010, leases from Spear Brothers Sheep and Cattle were assigned to Trabajo (working interest), Realeza (royalty) and Tierra (surface) to increase our efficiency and further secure our assets.  We didn't lose a company, we gained three more.
